International Direct Dialing

IDD

International telephone calls can be made in a number of different ways. Calls can be directly dialed from telephones which are registered with TeleYemen for IDD or can be made from a TeleYemen office, or the office of a reseller. Choose whichever is most convenient to you!

Registering for IDD

If you want to make International Direct Dialed calls from your own telephone, it is necessary to register with your nearest TeleYemen office. TeleYemen currently has Customer Service Centers in Sana'a, Aden, Hodeidah, Taiz, Ibb, Sayioun and Mukalla.

Peak and off-peak tariffs

For the first time in Yemen, there will be two different reduced tariffs during the day to enable all society segments to make International calls in reduced tariff.  IDD tariff will go down nearly by %25 from 11.00pm to 09.00am next day.

Now customers calling during that time can make longer calls with reduced tariff.

Making An IDD Call

Making an IDD call is very easy. If you are not familiar with the number, it often helps to make a note of it before starting to dial. Firstly, dial 00. This is the code, which opens your access to TeleYemen IDD. You may hear a second dial tone, but it is not necessary to wait for this before dialing the rest of the number.  Then dial the country code. Finally, dial the area code and the number of the distant country, if the area code starts with "0", it is usually necessary to ignore this. As an example, a number in London might look like this:  0171 123 4567, but to dial it from Yemen, you will need to dial 00 44 171 123 4567.

Call Charges for IDD

Calls made will be charged at the rates shown on the table . For reference , the charges are shown in Yemen Rails per minute, though the calls are actually billed by the second. Please remember ,charging starts when the destination end answers, even if the person you are calling is not actually there, or you call is answered by an automatic answering device.

Discounts on Fridays and National holidays

 Now you can call with the off peak  tariff on Fridays and national holidays with no time limit.
